Children's Books

The Grief Jar was successfully crowdfunded in 2022 and you can find out more about the book, and watch a video on the inspiration and backstory on crowdfunder

The Grief Jar

This book is aimed at 3 - 8 year olds(although can be appreciated by children and adults alike) consists of 32 pages and is an honest but gentle telling of a little bear's story of grief.  The story begins with Bear sitting in a dark room alone with a big heavy jar filled with feelings that he can't move by himself. His friends want him to come out and play but they can see that he's sad and don't know what to do.  Each animal friend comes in to see if they can help, and one by one ask him about his Daddy.

Counting all the Sheep

Naomi approached me to illustrate her sheep book idea and I jumped on the opportunity to create all the different characters seen in the book and to squeeze in the 100 sheep on the final page!

Naomi's shared appreciation of fun and colour made this a great match for me and I had great fun illustrating the farmer's antics trying to find his lost sheep. Look out for the bunny hiding on every page....

Ned Series

Rudi and Bear wanted to create a series of books centred on their wooden toys having adventures.  The series included "Ned's Grand Quest" a Ned puzzle and sticker book and  "Ned | King of The Skies". I loved the story's message of getting children to work together to save their environment and look after our planet. The story begins with Earth, Sun and Moon Ned arguing about who is most important, and ends with them coming to agree they must work together to ensure the health of the planet.

The Grief Goblin

This children’s book aims to encourage a dialogue between children and their loved ones about the feelings and emotions surrounding grief.  Trudi's lived experiences with helping her daughters through the complicated emotions connected with grief and loss moulded the story and characters, including Griefy and the Feelings Fairies.
